ULTHERA — A MODERN METHOD OF SKIN TIGHTENING USING ULTRASOUND
How does Ulthera work?
Ulthera uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), which penetrates deep into the skin layers. During treatment, the ultrasound beam is directed precisely at specific layers of skin, generating heat. This heat stimulates collagen production and causes tissues to contract and firm.
The process works in several steps:
- Ultrasound waves: An ultrasound probe is placed on the skin and the sound waves penetrate deep into the skin without damaging the top layers of skin.
- Targeted heating: By specifically heating the deeper layers of the skin, collagen production is stimulated. Collagen is an important component of the skin that is responsible for its strength and elasticity.
- Tissue tightening: As a result, the tissue contracts and the skin overall becomes firmer, smoother and more youthful. This process takes place over several months, as collagen formation continues to be stimulated after treatment.
Benefits of Ulthera
- Non-invasive: Ulthera requires no surgical intervention, which significantly reduces risks and downtime compared to classic surgery.
- No recovery time: Since no cuts or needles are used, there is no significant downtime. Patients can usually return to their normal activities immediately.
- Long-lasting results: Ulthera's results are not immediately visible but develop over several months as the body needs time to produce new collagen. The result can remain visible for up to a year or longer.
- Targeted treatment: Ulthera is very precise and allows precise treatment of the desired areas of skin, both on the face and on the body.
Ulthera Applications
Ulthera is particularly suitable for tightening the skin on the face, particularly to improve the contours of the chin, cheeks and neck. It is also used successfully to treat sagging tissue in the décolleté and upper arms. It can be used both for patients who notice the first signs of sagging skin and for people who already have more advanced skin problems.
Technique: Precise ultrasound waves activate the body's ability to regenerate, promote the formation of new collagen fibers and naturally firm the skin.
Duration of treatment: 40-60 minutes, on an outpatient basis.
Anesthesia: A mild pain reliever is recommended.
Risks: Possible slight swelling after treatment.
After-treatment: None required
